Yesterday Toronto Police released graphic footage of two men shooting Anthony “Fif” Soares, best known for his relationship to hometown music icon Drake, in the hopes of helping identify who murdered him in Scarborough’s Dorset Park neighbourhood on September 14th, 2017. He underwent emergency surgery but ultimately died from sustained injuries.

Soares was inside the lobby of a building on Glamorgan Avenue, close to Kennedy and Ellesmere roads. Two men, who later fled to the 401 highway in a newer white Ford Fusion with tinted windows, approached the lobby front with handguns and began firing through the window. Police believe the shooting was targeted, although not gang-related. There are currently no suspects and so Toronto Police are urging Drake, as well as anybody within the community to come forward with any information that may assist in solving the 39th homicide in Toronto so far this year. Soares left behind a young child.
